About Us
What is MPMO?
MPMO is a ministry of praying parents, formed by parish groups of fathers and mothers full of love for God and their families. They meet on a monthly Holy Hour to praise, worship and prayer to repair and petition to Jesus Eucharist, for the salvation of the children. They also ask for the union of the families, for the Pope, the hierarchy of the Church and especially for the priests of the parish.
The ministry was formed due to the great need to help our children develop into good people and to help them fend off the dangers they are exposed in today’s society. The Holy Father speaks of the importance of saving the family. We are all very concerned about the problems in our families. It looks like the vast majority of marriages end in divorce and the children begin an ordeal that leads to emotional and behavioral disorders. Our homes have become centers of trouble and discord at the lack of understanding among the family members.
Through prayer before the Blessed Sacrament, the grace and peace of God is carried in silence to the homes – which in turn changes the hearts of the family members. We try to help mom and dad to form worthy temples, per example of the Family of Nazareth, for the development of a healthy and happy family.
How was MPMO started?
MPMO (Ministerio de Padres y Madres Orantes) was born on April 24 of the year 1999, in the Mother of Christ Parish in Miami, Florida, under the guidance of Father Raul Angulo. The founders of the ministry were parishioners Luis and Loly Garcia.
It was founded as a parish ministry designed for fathers and mothers, who through a special call, intercede for the spiritual and physical salvation of their children and the children of the world.
To date, the ministry is in more than one hundred parishes in the United States, countries of Latin America and the Caribbean. Thanks to the dedication of its members and the cooperation of local bishops and presbyters, who find in this particular ministry an aid to the heavy burden of the evangelization of parish members.
